What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis comes from the word Hypnos, which means deity sleep, but the hypnosis itself is not sleeping. Simply put, the phenomenon is similar to sleep, where the subconscious takes over the role and nature conscious reduced role. In this condition someone to be very suggestive (easily influenced), because the unconscious is supposed to be the filter logic is no longer taking part. Someone who is hypnotized is actually highly concentrated in the very focus. So the process of hypnosis is the process of guiding someone to move the focus from external to internal (concentration). In principle, to access one's subconscious can be done using various techniques. Such verbal techniques (suggestion), progressive relaxation techniques, technical energy use, engineering visualization, and mystical techniques (supernatural, both black and white science.) According to various experts, simply we can say that the human mind consists of two functions: conscious mind (effect on our lives is about 12%), and the subconscious (88%). This means that the unconscious operates over much of our lives. There are other experts who distinguish into 3 (conscious, subconscious, and unconscious), but to simplify it easier for us there are only two functions. Conscious critical function that will filter all incoming information to the brain, weighing, checking in logic, analysis and so on. Meanwhile, the unconscious does not perform that function, memory is stored here, also stored programs and our behavior patterns, as well as manage various functions of the organs.
Subconscious is like a small child, he can not distinguish between reality and imagination. When we relax and concentration, the subconscious automatically will be accessible. This explains why the emergence of creativity when we are relaxed. Well hypnotic phenomena actually not unusual. Every day we are in and out of the hypnotic / trance many times, it's just that their levels are usually mild. For example when we watch TV, where our attention is fully absorbed in the TV, then we are not aware of the surroundings and be very tersugesti by TV. At the moment we saw the movie someone who was raped, then we will be sad and angry, and we know it's just a movie. However, once again, however, because when we watch TV to relax and concentrate, then the function of the unconscious becomes dominating, and the subconscious can not distinguish between reality and imagination. So we become carried away and sad. Ridiculous is not it? That's similar to when a hypnotized, he knew that he was not a cat, but she just kept meowing, miaow, because the subconscious is programmed to allow the hypnotist to his "to" cat. While consciousness has been made into a less functional at the time he was at the induction into the hypnotic state. The phenomenon of hypnosis / trance light also occurs every day when carried away reading books, driving on the highway, listening to classical music, going out to forget the time, ten hours seemed an hour, and so on.
